It's been said that what gets measured, gets done. If you keep tabs on your firms' tax season progress by walking around looking at how many paper folders are in everyone's offices, there's a better way. We designed the tax season funnel report to be used weekly, or even daily, to be shared with the whole office. The stages should mirror your tax workflow stages and compare your total completed or extended and not received with this same time last year. The visual nature of this report helps quickly identify bottlenecks and overall progress. Some practice management systems can produce similar reports, but this can be as simple as a canva file or word doc that the office manager updates, saves as a PDF, and sends to the team. Some firms have dashboard systems with TVs in public places. This report is a great report to have posted in a common place throughout tax season to keep your team focused and aware of potential issues.
